A Stopgap as Design Curiosities becomes Curiosity and Curiosities

In an effort to bring more unique and thoughtful content to our site we’ve been discussing and working on what changes we need to make. As those changes are taking place behind the scenes, and to let you know that we are still here, you can find us at Curiosity and Curiosities. We are sharing visual content as a stopgap for this transition.

The Soap Co. produces luxury soaps, hand washes, and lotions—they also happen to be active employers of the blind, disabled, and disadvantaged. Paul Belford Ltd. has effortlessly translated this into a stellar identity and packaging system. I highly recommend reading more about both parties.

Good Goods: Maak Soap

The product photography from the folks at Maak Lab is really excellent. It is why I’ve chosen to share their work even though I’ve never used it. Their soaps sound alluring, ranging from masculine firs to more feminine rose blossoms. They also have a couple of editions available only at other retailers.

Good Goods: Mistral Soap

Mistral Soap
It seems as though I waited too long to share this lovely bar of soap. The particular scent shown here, Pink Flowers, is no longer available at Anthropologie. I can’t speak for the other scents still available, but I can say that the quality of the bar was wonderful, and I will definitely use Mistral Soaps again. ※ photograph by dc

Good Goods: White Rabbit Soap

I tend to feature types of objects on Good Goods that make my daily routine joyous. Candles, mugs, and all sorts of simple, but beautiful objects make up my posting repertoire. Today, I’m adding a item that tends to top that list, bar soap. During one of our visits to Space Montrose, a shop dedicated to featuring local artisans and crafters, I picked up what has come to be one of my favorite aromas. A soap from Old Factory called White Rabbit. The fragrance is nothing short of incredible, and I can’t get enough. If you’re in town, you should pick a bar, or two, or three from Space Montrose, if you aren’t local Old Factory has an online shop to order from.
